Keza MacDonald from The Guardian also gave the game a 5/5 rating. While she found the controls to be a bit difficult at first, she loved the game’s focus on creativity and the sense of freedom it provided.


Joel Franney at GamesRadar gave the game a 4.5/5 rating, stating that the sequel was well worth the wait. He praised the new systems but struggled to gel with certain new areas of the map.


Finally, Eurogamer reviewed the game with a 4/5 rating. Writer Edwin Evans-Thirlwell particularly liked the contrast between the Sky Islands and the underground sections, though he felt that it grew a little repetitive at times.
